This homeowner in Arlington, Massachusetts, was tired of seeing the stains on her kitchen floor every single day, which is why she decided to seek the help of tile cleaning professionals to solve the problem. After talking about the problem with some friends who lived nearby, they recommended Sir Grout of Greater Boston's grout cleaning services in Arlington. She noticed that they were very adamant that she hire our services, and she wondered why. Therefore, before contacting us, she decided to look us up on the internet to check out our work and find out what all that fuss was about. She browsed our website, and upon reading a couple of blog posts and seeing before and after photos of the work we had done, she decided to call us and set up a date for a free evaluation.

A couple of days later, we went to her house and inspected the area she wanted us to fix. It was a small kitchen area with a rustic tile floor, and the main problem was the appearance of the grout lines, which were very dirty and stained. In some areas, they were so dirty that they looked as dark as the tiles, when they were originally quite a few shades lighter. We determined that in order to improve the look of the floor and prevent it from becoming stained again, we needed to perform a tile and grout cleaning followed by a sealing service.

To start the process, we applied a non-toxic tile and grout cleaner and used a high-speed scrubber to deep clean the entire surface, which removed all the dirt and grime. Since this rustic tile floor had stubborn dirt in some areas, we used a steam cleaner to get rid of all the remaining dirt before proceeding to the next step. After that, we used ColorSeal, our proprietary grout sealant, to recolor the grout lines and make them stain-, water-, and mold-resistant. This is how the grout lines became evenly colored, as you can see in the photos. Once the grout lines were color sealed, we applied Tile Armor to the entire surface. Tile Armor is a clear sealer that helps maintain floors more easily by making both tiles and grout water- and stain-resistant. Both products are non-toxic and safe for the entire family.
The client was delighted to see that her kitchen floor looked like its old self. She couldn't find enough words to thank us. We were proud to, once again, have gotten excellent results and to have met and exceeded our client's expectations.

Once we were done, we explained to the homeowner how she could prevent her kitchen floor from becoming dirty again. We recommended that she vacuum it frequently to remove loose dirt and dust and advised her to always use a soapless, pH-neutral cleaner, mopping whenever necessary. Finally, we told her to use a dry terry cloth to remove all excess water and cleaner, as this would prevent dirty residue from settling on the floor, especially on grout lines.
